Christmas Music!

Hi everyone,

In the next few weeks we will be singing a couple of Christmas songs.  I'm hoping that we can pull off 'Prepare the Way of the Lord' as it seems awfully perfect for the beginning of advent.  We'll sing it lots on Wednesday night and hopefully we'll be in good shape.  If not, we'll sing In the Bleak Midwinter which is an easier piece by far...

Regardless, here are the audio files I made for your practicing convenience:

Prepare the Way of the Lord:
Soprano:  http://www.TwinkleTogether.com/Choir/Prepare_sop.mp3
Alto:        http://www.TwinkleTogether.com/Choir/Prepare_alto.mp3
Baritone: http://www.TwinkleTogether.com/Choir/Prepare_bar.mp3

In the Bleak Midwinter
Ladies parts (Sop and Alto together): http://www.TwinkleTogether.com/Choir/Bleak_women.mp3
Baritone: http://www.TwinkleTogether.com/Choir/Bleak_bar.mp3

I hope this works!  If there are technical difficulties, please let me know.

Thanks everyone, I hope you're having as much fun as I am.  You sounded GREAT on Sunday!

We'll start our weekly rehearsals tomorrow night, and those will go until Christmas.  I'm looking forward to singing some of my favorite Christmas songs with you!

I hope to see lots and lots and lots of you there tomorrow (Wednesday) night!  6:30 - 8:00pm.  Special thanks in advance to Bridget who agreed to be our accompanist for the rehearsal again!

Hello Again!

After church this morning Angela stayed for a minute and played out the alto part for our extravaganza "Fly Away Medley" that we'll be singing Next Week!  Hip Hip Hooray!

If you'd like some extra work with the alto part, please download and listen to
http://www.twinkletogether.com/FlyAwayMedley-Alto.m4a

This is all newish, so let me know if it works?  The recording is higher quality than I expected, recorded just with my iphone sitting on the piano in the sanctuary.  Hope it helps!

Meet the New Boss

Hello!

Well, the choir director is never 'the boss', but for some reason this quote from "Won't Get Fooled Again" seemed appropriate - "Meet the new boss...  Same as the old boss..."

It feels very good to be in a leadership role of our merry band of choristers again!  Thank you all so much for your time and attention over the past couple of weeks - it is so very appreciated.

I thought I'd try to keep up Mary's habit of updating an excellent and useful blog for everyone's benefit.  For now, I wanted to post a link to the "Fly Away Medley" that we're working on.  This will open up in a new window or tab.  Enjoy!

(Prepare yourself - you're about to get your bluegrass on!)  Fly Away Medley

Please let me know if there's any particular information you'd like to see posted here - I'll do my best!

Thanks again everyone,

Steve
